Salary: €32,000-€38,000 + Overtime & Bonus
Hours: Mon–Thu 07:00–16:30, Fri 07:00–13:30

Our client, a specialist in innovative vehicle engineering solutions, is seeking a Design & Fabrication Lead to join their growing team in North Dublin
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a workshop‑engineering environment and is ready to progress into department leadership.
The Role
This position starts with hands‑on technical work across 3D design, additive manufacturing, CNC operation, and fabrication.
After a transition period, you will take ownership of developing and leading the department, managing workflows, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
3D Design & Digital Modelling
- Develop accurate 3D models and templates for engineering projects
- Prepare print‑ready and production‑ready files
- Maintain structured digital documentation and revision control
Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing)
- Set up, monitor, and optimise 3D printing operations
- Perform basic preventative maintenance
- Manage print queues and record machine performance
CAD & CNC Router Operation
- Generate CAD designs and CNC cutting toolpaths
- Execute CNC operations safely and accurately
- Ensure appropriate material selection and efficient usage
Fabrication & Quality Control
- Fabricate components to exacting engineering standards
- Perform dimensional checks and maintain quality documentation
- Troubleshoot and provide improvement recommendations
Workflow Coordination & Leadership
- Organise tasks in line with project schedules
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams
- Lead departmental activities, allocate workloads, and develop best practices
- Support team training and participate in strategic planning
Candidate Profile
Essential
- 2+ years’ experience in 3D design (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.)
- Hands‑on experience with 3D printers and CNC routers
- Strong understanding of measurement, fabrication, and technical drawings
- Excellent organisation, problem‑solving, and attention to detail
- Practical, hands‑on technical ability
Desirable
- Experience in automotive/vehicle conversion or custom fabrication
- Prior team coordination or supervisory responsibilities
- Knowledge of workflow planning or lean principles
- Full driving licence (preferred)
