Transport Manager

Airport Staff are looking for a Transport Manager to join our client in Shannon.
As Transport Manager, you will lead a key depot within our clients network, overseeing domestic, UK, and European freight operations. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient collection and delivery services, managing transport costs, maintaining profitability, and delivering excellent customer service while meeting agreed SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily transport operations, including collections, deliveries, trunking, and line haul movements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, customers, and network depots across Ireland and the UK.
• Monitor transport costs, service performance, and profitability.
• Resolve operational issues and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
• Produce KPI and performance reports for management and customers.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, Health & Safety standards, and operational policies.
• Support warehouse resource planning to ensure adequate staffing levels.

Team Leadership

• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
• Conduct performance reviews and support employee development plans.
• Ensure staff are fully trained and operating in line with company policies and procedures.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused working environment.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in transport, logistics, or distribution management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Commercial awareness with a focus on cost control and operational efficiency.
• Experience using Transport Management Systems and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and KPI reporting.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
