Part Qualified Accountant
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Qualified Accountant to join their growing accountancy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional currently pursuing an ACA or ACCA qualification and looking to further develop their technical accounting expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accounting and compliance services to a diverse client portfolio, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining high professional standards, and supporting clients with their day-to-day accounting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end financial statements and supporting schedules for management review.
- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including VAT, payroll, fixed assets, leases, and hire purchase agreements.
- Process and maintain accurate financial records within accounting software systems.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
- Ensure financial statements and client deliverables are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Support the year-end close process, including preparation and posting of final journal entries.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of Corporation Tax returns.
- Communicate professionally with clients via telephone, email, and meetings where required.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through a proactive and customer-focused approach.
- Liaise with managers and senior team members regarding client queries and financial matters.
- Assist with ad hoc assignments, projects, and business initiatives as required.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Part-qualified ACA or ACCA accountant.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
- Previous exposure to Corporation Tax compliance.
- Experience managing a varied client portfolio across multiple industries.
