Composite Technician/Panel Beater

Job description

Airport Staff are seeking an experienced Aircraft Technician Composite to join our client’s team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe repair of the Aircraft and its Component products, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and technical standards. You will work in accordance with approved Data, Company Procedures manuals, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will play a key role in training and assisting other staff members and trainees within the Business unit.

Responsibilities:

• Complete assigned work and duties in a timely and professional manner to maintain aircraft schedules and maximize output.
• Communicate any concerns or issues that may impact the delivery of the aircraft to the Zonal or Check Leader.
• Sign off on all work performed in accordance with approved data and company procedures.
• Use approved and up-to-date documents for all repair tasks.
• Identify and mark the correct repair area before commencing any repairs.
• Dispose of any printed documentation, other than task cards, once the task is completed.
• Maintain excellent timekeeping and attendance records in line with company procedures.
• Adhere to scheduled break times.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date systems and handovers.
• Record all materials used for both commercial and records purposes.
• Ensure correct paperwork and storage of all materials within the work environment.
• Verify the calibration date of test equipment before use.
• Clean and return tooling after use and properly dispose of waste materials.
• Secure the work area at the end of each shift.
• Operate to minimize audit findings and assist with corrective actions when necessary.
• Properly utilize personal protective clothing and equipment as provided.
• Assist with the development of new processes and component capability.
• Report any technical, airworthiness, or safety issues to the Zonal or Check Leader.
• Perform additional duties as reasonably assigned by the Company.

Core Competencies/Advantages:

• Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or trainee program.
• Competence in working on and repairing composite parts on aircraft or other vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of technical matters related to the activities of the Business Unit.
• Ability to interpret and apply requirements from maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, instructions, service bulletins, and task cards.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability to change and a team-oriented mindset.
• Basic computer literacy and a willingness to learn and implement new systems and procedures.
• Familiarity with the Company MOE (Maintenance Organisation Exposition) and Procedures Manual.
• Willingness to attend courses provided by the Company.
