The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Compliance Monitoring & Safety Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting engineering compliance, safety oversight, and regulatory adherence across Part 145 and CAMO operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc audits of Part 145 and CAMO activities in accordance with the approved annual audit programme. This includes audit preparation, execution, reporting, non-conformance management, corrective action follow-up, and audit close-out.
  • Manage internal and external occurrence reporting systems across CAMO and Part 145 organisations, including the review of safety occurrences, risk assessments, and safety investigations.
  • Monitor corrective action plans to ensure timely implementation by responsible managers and external auditees, reviewing root cause analyses and corrective/preventive actions while challenging and verifying supporting evidence.
  • Issue and renew Part 145 Engineer Company Authorisations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to support Safety Action Group (SAG) and Safety Review Board meetings.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance to management to support ongoing regulatory compliance and industry best practice.
  • Monitor the implementation of safety recommendations arising from audits, hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA), investigations, and occurrence reports.
  • Track and follow up on actions assigned to hazard owners through the HIRA process.
  • Maintain and update compliance and safety documentation, including CAME/MOE manuals, audit checklists, and audit plans, ensuring alignment with regulatory changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders to facilitate audits, inspections, and compliance-related queries.
  • Support the Engineering Compliance Monitoring & Safety Manager and deputise when required.
  • Undertake additional duties as reasonably required within the scope of the role.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a compliance, quality, or safety role within an aviation maintenance Part 145 and/or Part M/CAMO environment.
  • Holder of an EASA Part 66 Type-Rated Licence or a relevant aeronautical engineering degree.
  • Strong knowledge of EASA and UK CAA Part 145 and CAMO regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in audit planning, execution, analysis, reporting, and corrective action management.
  • Understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS), aviation safety risks, human factors, and performance limitations.
  • Ability to identify existing and potential safety risks and recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, investigative, and IT skills.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Desirable

  • Aviation Auditor Training.
  • Safety Management Systems (SMS) Training.
  • Knowledge of IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices.
  • Previous experience interacting with aviation regulatory authorities.
