Location: Dublin Airport

Salary: €50,000 per annum + Bonus

Job Purpose:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of the physical spaces and equipment for our client’s food service operations. This role ensures that units adhere to airport standards, safety regulations, and customer service excellence. The Facilities Manager also works closely with vendors, maintenance staff, and unit management to maintain the smooth functioning of these areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance & Operations:

  • Coordinate with external contractors for maintenance, cleaning, plumbing, electrical, and other technical services for maintenance, and repairs for all F&B units within the airport terminals and support UK airport teams.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment, dining areas, and storage facilities are well-maintained and compliant with health and safety standards and conduct regular auits to identify and mitigate risks

Health, Safety & Compliance:

  • Monitor adherence to legal regulations, including fire safety, sanitation, and emergency response procedures.

Vendor & Contractor Management:

  • Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure all work is completed to required standards and within budget.
  • Ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) are met consistently.

Budget & Cost Control:

  • Manage the maintenance and facilities budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness in repairs, upgrades, and services and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Forecast and plan for facility-related expenses and provide regular financial reports to management.

Emergency Management:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for facilities-related incidents (e.g., power outages, equipment failures, or structural damage).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for emergencies impacting F&B units and coordinate quick resolutions to minimise disruption to services.

Customer Service & Satisfaction:

  • Work closely with F&B unit managers to ensure that the physical environment supports an exceptional customer experience and address any facility-related issues impacting guest experience.
  • Collaborate with the airport’s customer service teams to resolve customer complaints related to facilities promptly.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced airport environment with significant walking and physical activity.
  • Where necessary, Evening, weekend, and holiday work to address maintenance issues or emergencies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • IWFM Accreditation.
  • A formal H&S qualification such as an IOSH certificate or similar is advantageous.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001, 14001, & 45001 – 50001 is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and office management tools.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
