Job Overview

Our client is seeking a dedicated Ground Handling Crew Chief to join their team at Dublin Airport. This role reports directly to the Apron Operations Manager and requires extensive experience in airline ground operations, with a strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and compliance.

Salary is 36,000 plus allowances.

Shift pattern:
2 shifts available

  • 2 on, 2 off shift pattern -2 early (5.30am-2.30pm) , 2 lates (1.30pm-10.30pm) , 2 off
  • 4 on, 4 off 12-hour shift pattern

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations Management: Oversee the client’s daily operations at Dublin Airport.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict safety procedures as outlined by the client.
  • Resource Allocation: Assign and utilise Ground Handling (GH) Crew and company equipment efficiently.
  • Staff Management: Allocate agents for next-day service and ensure adequate staffing for daily operations.
  • Disruption Management: Monitor schedules and assist in minimising potential delays.
  • Team Development: Mentor and support the Ramp Agent team to achieve operational excellence.
  • Cross-Department Coordination: Ensure effective communication across departments including OCC, Flight Ops, Inflight, Engineering, Catering, and Fuelling.
  • Supervision: Direct GH Crew in unloading/loading and servicing aircraft.
  • Performance Metrics: Deliver On-Time Performance (OTP) and Ramp Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all safety, security, and compliance regulations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure Ground Services Equipment maintenance procedures are completed.
  • Operational Support: Assist with ramp duties such as safety walks, marshalling, and operating Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Baggage Handling: Focus on prompt delivery of baggage, especially for transfers and connections.
  • Reporting: Report equipment defects to maintenance.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Apron Operations Manager or Dublin Station Manager.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of ramp experience.
  • Qualifications: Certified Pushback Driver.
  • Administrative Skills: Previous administrative experience.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to multi-task and solve problems effectively.
  • Leadership: Previous supervisory experience is highly advantageous.
