Job Title: Road Logistics Forwarder (Maternity Cover)
Location: Swords, Co. Dublin
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover)

Our client is a well-established logistics provider with a strong presence across European transport networks. Known for their reliability and customer-focused approach, they are now seeking a skilled Road Logistics Forwarder to join their team on a maternity cover contract.

The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to step into a busy, supportive environment where you will play a key role in managing road freight operations and ensuring high service standards are maintained throughout the contract period.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily road freight shipments across domestic and European routes
• Liaise with hauliers, drivers, and international partners to ensure efficient transport execution
• Arrange bookings, prepare transport documentation, and monitor shipments end-to-end
• Provide proactive updates to customers and handle any service issues effectively
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations and internal procedures
• Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement practical solutions
• Maintain accurate records and update transport management systems

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in road freight forwarding or transport logistics
• Strong understanding of European road transport operations
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong communication and customer service capabilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics systems
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

Desirable Skills

• Experience with groupage, FTL, and LTL shipments
• Exposure to customs procedures is advantageous
